Short version: Lumen Labs does not collect, sell or share personal data. The only data processed is what your browser automatically sends to any web server when you load a page (server access logs). There is no analytics tool, no tracking, no contact form and no user accounts on this website.

1. Who we are

Lumen Labs is a Swiss non-profit association (Association, Swiss Civil Code art. 60 ff.) based in Geneva, Switzerland. We operate lumen-labs.ch as a static showcase website to present our mission and incubation framework. We do not sell products or services.

2. Applicable law

This policy is governed by Swiss law, in particular the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP / nDSG) and its implementing ordinance, in force since 1 September 2023. Where visitors access this site from the European Union or EEA, the principles stated herein are consistent with the GDPR.

3. What data we process and why

Server access logs — When your browser requests a page from our web server, the hosting infrastructure automatically records a standard access log entry. This is a technical requirement of operating any website and cannot be avoided. The entry contains: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page URL, the HTTP response code, your browser type and version, and your operating system.

These logs are used solely for: keeping the server secure, detecting attacks or abuse, and diagnosing technical errors. They are not used for profiling, marketing or any commercial purpose. They are retained for a maximum of 30 days, then deleted. They are never shared with third parties.

Email correspondence — If you contact us at info@lumen-labs.ch, we process your email address and the content of your message solely to reply to you. We retain correspondence for as long as necessary to handle your request, and no longer.

4. What we do not collect

We do not use analytics software. We do not use cookies or tracking technologies. We do not embed social media buttons, advertising networks or third-party widgets. We do not collect names, phone numbers or any other personal information unless you send them to us voluntarily by email.

5. Legal basis for processing

Server log processing is based on our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website (nDSG art. 31). Email correspondence is processed to fulfil a request made by the person contacting us.

6. Data transfers

Server logs may be processed by our hosting provider. We ensure that any provider offers a level of data protection consistent with Swiss nDSG requirements. We do not transfer personal data to third countries outside Switzerland without an adequate level of protection.

7. Your rights

Under the Swiss nDSG you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise any of these rights, write to info@lumen-labs.ch. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC / PFPDT) at www.edoeb.admin.ch.

8. Security

All connections to this website are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access or loss.

9. Changes

If our data processing practices change, we will update this page and revise the date above. We encourage you to check back periodically.
